The team, on the run during the night, regroups to take up temporary residence in a predetermined rendezvous point: a farm building.

In the early morning they are attacked by part of a Soviet garrison mopping up prisoners from the prison break. They open fire on the searchers, and only one is left, trying to flee. Hunter takes his dagger and runs the man down, making an attempt at questioning him but, when that does not work (Hunter does not understand Russian) stabbing him just to see him die slowly. Smith is a short distance behind, holding his rifle at the ready, observing the cruel actions of the American.

Wiberg is sent to make a diversion by setting off a flare that will draw any further searchers away from their direction of travel.

<cut to scene in prison camp farmhouse where Germans have returned and try to steal information from the dead captain (whom Hoffmann recognises) and Kalapov. They remove Kalapov's wounded brain.>

Go into town, find another farmhouse where they meet Illiana and her mother.

Illiana is freaked by Hunter and he hears her speak English (an intercepted message from King Solomon's mines).

Hunter has confrontation with Smith over the interrogation incident.

Attacked again. Wiberg again leaves to set a diversion.

Make their way to airfield at night. A second British unit is there, waiting for Frost. Then Sonderkommandoes attack. Most of the new British unit are killed and so is Jones. Wiberg appears and is incapacitated by the Germans (later handed over to the Russians after being tortured).

Iliana's mother is killed (sightless eyes staring at her daughter as she falls) and Wotek takes her under his wing.

A strange small Nazi follows around the Major. Hunter tries to assault them, saving Smith but in the end must run for the plane.

Hunter makes it at the last second as it takes off.

They are safe for now. Hoffmann sifts through the wreckage . He begins to question whether his choices in life have been wise, especially after the interrogation of the dead.
