Background - Nano Summary

Today Nash spends the majority of this time in the Prosaic Reality, his endeavours split between his countless human guises. The successful Hollywood producer, the mysterious Illumainati puppeteer or, the relentless conspiracy theorist. His existent is often secretive and bizare - his pet projects dangerous and regularly down right ludicrous!

But the story of how he come to be is just as unusual :-

The Embrace! August 16, 1977 - the day Elvis died. Also a fateful day as it was when Nash was EnNobled. A British freelance travel writer working on a tour of the globes most notorious haunted houses.

The Love! Drew Lewis, childhood sweetheart with the same birthday (1st May 1952). Grew up in west London and dated for years. As a Noble Nashs powers and duties kept him away and they had a falling out.

The Nemesis! In the 80s Nash feuded with the infuriating Power of History. Matching similar powers they clashed regularly but the last straw was History making Drew an anchor.

The War! Around the same time an Execrucian shard entered the Prosaic Reality and waged a subtle war, attempting to weaken History - manifesting as a cruel mental illness, blanking memories and leaving a past whereby people believe existence began at sun rise. The effect was to create a world for the sick where creation is a mystery - and with each to sun rise it begins anew.

The Gambit! When History uncovers the attack he allows Drew to be infected and channelling power to her manages to draw all of the Execrucian Virus into her. History succeeded in trapping the Execrucian but it was killing Drew and it would only be a matter of time before the Execrucian escaped.

The Betrayal! Knowing Nash will take her to his Chancel for care, History allowed him to uncover only half of the story. Nash immediately intervened and transported Drew into the Chancel to be healed by the gifted Psionic population. Once in the Chancel the Execrucian realised an opportunity to strike directly at an Imperator was at hand and left his pitiful attack on History behind to strikes directly at The Unbeheld.

The Loss! The Familia Caelestis rallied to defend The Unbehelds body but Nash leaves them to tend to Drew but the Virus has ravaged her mind and she die in his arms. Her raging soul is let loose in the Chancel but now cannot remember the truth of her demise.

THE REARGUARD! The Execrucian put up quite a fight, possessing locals from within the Chancel and was able to unearth The Unbeheld before the Power of Psionics intervened at the last moment. In the exchange Psionics is brutally struck and is destroyed within the Prosaic Reality but is able to cling onto existence in the Chancel. Finally the other Nobles corner the Execrucian and it is destroyed.

THE COST! Unsurprisingly The Unbeheld is furious at Nashs selfish risk taking and as a punishment he is stripped of his strength within the Realm (reduced to 0 Realm and Sanctum Limited is imposed).

THE FALL! The aftermath results in the general humiliation of Nash amongst other Nobles, a reputation he has had to fight ever since - although its a chip on his shoulder he has gotten very used to these days.

Quirks

  • Dislike of overly emotive/unnecessarily wordy language. Writing and even dialogue should be "Good Copy" as he sees it - comes from his time as a writer
  • Has a disrespect for "Common Hauntings" - anything where someone just dies and the spirit doesnt move on.
  • Is well versed in Elvis's greatest hits, has as tendency to whistle or hum them.
  • Has a pastime of terrorising "Legend Trippers" - tourists but typically adolescents who as a rite of passage go to the site of a horror or legend.
  • Although not immortal (supposed to live to approx 200) Nash still appears 25 years old, having never outwardly aged a day since August 16, 1977.
