I; ;was introduced to RPGs early in University. White wolf games at first moving on towards DND and then a whole lot more. At this stage, I was a player only.
After second year I went to my home town for about 8 months, here I met with some new friends/old gamers and played DND and began my first GMing. Starting with a Vampire once-off to get the hang of it, this was the starting block of a year long campaign that I ran upon returning to university. Since then I have made once-offs on the fly, GMed other campaigns, while playing in many others. I Went to a Gaming Convention in Maynooth which was good experience.
After a lul because of fourth year in college for many players and lack of decent GMs available for any games, I tried to revitalise the gaming life in Limerick University. I ran the first game to be played in a year and a half. All the usual players had lost interest in general but since I was running a relatively new game, Demon: The Fallen, which none of them had played, they was a clamper to get spaces in the game. There were twice the number of players to spaces. I insisted on a two/thirds newbie set of players so that new blood would bring a new life into the stagnent RPG section of the Society. The new players did well and are still gaming now. The game ran for 6 months as I had my masters finished but was about to relocate to London.
It was expected that London would be a thriving hub of gaming activity but to my surprise, it was hardly visible at all. After four months, a few of us got together through some message boards and are now a small but stable gaming group. Demon: The Fallen was one the major interests for alot of players as well as Call of Chuthulu. I myself have never played CoC and am looking forward to getting into it.
I currently run a game of Demon: The Fallen and play in the other games that we have going.
In the no-so-distant future I want to run a Mage game and another Demon game, and maybe even a Werewolf/Vampire game if possible. The Mage game may not happen until I have played it with someone else GMing as I have no experience in it.
As a GM, I try to emphasise the realism of the real world setting and try to be impartial when it comes to the way the world works. Drama is important and I also try to keep dice rolling to a minimum. The priority is to have a balance between mystery/drama and action. Hopefully it is all fun for everyone.
