(:*toc:) Editing a wiki is not only fun, it keeps you young and improves your sex life. Recent studies have found that 8 out of 10 who edit wikis frequently have a slower aging process than those who don't.[^Babuscka, the famous greek yoghurt model, is 129 years old and has been editing wikis since she was a young girl.^] The more proficient you are at the editing, the more benefit you will see. Hence, here is a guide to help you not only get started but excel!

Files and images

You can attach any file by using 'Attach'. It will behave different depending on:
* The file has yet not been uploaded in which the link takes you to the upload form: Attach:newFile.txt
* The file is not an image: Attach:uploadedFile.txt
* The file is an image: Attach:image.jpg"Mouse over text"

Images can be shown as links (and allow names with spaces) like this: [[Attach:image.jpg | I can also change the text.]]

To float an image, with or without a border and a caption, or alternative text, maybe scaled down to fit a certain size, combine these words like the examples below: ''lfloat, rfloat, rframe, lframe, width'' and ''height''

%lfloat width=250px% Attach:shodan.jpg"Mouse over me" | Caption!
%rframe height=250px% Attach:shodan.jpg"My probes scan your body..." | '''Who are you?'''
Text will wrap around the images in what I hope you will find a pleasing way. If you don't, you can always break the float and skip below it by adding the following:
[[<<]]
There, now we are down below.

A note on images and PDFs. The text area is 500px wide. Between 500-1000px the images will scale to fit. Images over 1000px will not be included in the PDF and an error message saying that the image was too large will be printed instead. So try and keep the images 1000px and below.

[=%rfloat%, %lfloat%, %rframe% and %lframe% will print the caption of an image to the side of the image, scaling the image down further to make space. %cfloat% and ''Attach:image.jpg"Caption"'' will print the caption underneath the image.=]

Special stuff

(:title The Wiki $yntax:)
The Title markup sets the title of the page. Useful for including characters that are not allowed in a wiki name. The title is used often to refer to a page instead of its 'official' name.

(:back:)
The back markup will create a small back link to take you back to the top. Good to place by headings of long pages.

To mark a page for completion, edit the page and replace all content by teh single word 'delete'.

>>printonly<<
This will be visible in the PDF but no on the web.
>><<

>>webonly<<
This be visible on the web but no in the PDF.
>><<

(:if false:)
This will not be visible anywhere, for sure!
(:ifend:)
