B;orn; in Averland, James Falkus, played by Jon, is a glory seeking adventurer. Or at least was in his youth. Now at the grizzled age of 18 he has travelled far and wide with his late friend and mentor Colonel Thingholt.

The Colonel was a friend of Kastiger von Delberz, who also served as his patron. On his deathbed (from consumption) the Colonel promised all his worldly possessions to James with a letter of introduction addressed to von Delberz. His possessions consisted of a number of shabby journals chronicling his adventures and giving clues as to legendary treasures in hidden tombs and lost palaces.

James was understandably upset by the death of his friend and almost destitute. As such he began a trek to Delberz to seek his own fortune, hoping to set up his own business concerned with the identification, extraction and sale of artifacts. His simple dream is to find perpetual funding for his misadventures.

His dreams were almost shattered upon his arrival to Delberz. He discovered that the old count had been dead ten years and his brother was not of the same adventuresome and monetarily reckless spirit.

Left with few options James is tagging along with the youngest von Delberz and his associates, all the while keenly reading the Thingholt journals in search of the key to higher adventure.
