Scene Four: Hedges Cottage

T;hursday 20th December 1923;

A reporter, ms Olive Ashley, followed Jon looking for a story.

Theodore, the pimp and owner of the speak-easy, beat up Hyat, police officer and then made a runner. Stapleton, senior police officer, is very angry. Theodore had just beat up Chevon who had to go to the hospital.

Chevon checked herself out of the hospital. In hospital she started doing paintings of some monster.

Sylvester had given up on his obsession with the fungus after not getting anywhere. Tending to his shope, he's experiencing great sales.

Jeff got aa call from Chevon saying that the military was behind it, that she had told the Sergent Falcone knew about 'what came for her' and he knew about it but did nothing. Jeff calms her down. She says they are making monsters at the base. She then drops the phone and runs off. She leavs the phone off the hool and a passer-by tells Jeff he is at the edge of black Harlem, at a place just next to Sylvester's florist.

Chevon came in and was terrified. Trying to calm her was impossible. Before she went into a cataconic state, she said the same facts as she told Jeff. Jeff found the florist and popped by. Thinking that Chevon might have samples of the fungi on her, Sylvester sends his wife to the upstairs bedroom to undress and take samples. A screm calls Sylvester and Jeff upstairs where Chevon had drawn a crude drawing of a demon. She also said that Falcone had tried to take her back to the base and that he had now gone to a cottage up by Pennywell find "the other survivor". Sedating her with cloroform Sylvester takes samples and then drives her to the Colombia hospital. Then Sylvester takes the samples to Morgan's research lab and drops them of in cool prepped storage. Then Sylvester and Jeff drives to Pennywell.

Falcone had called. Estelle, Joey and Barrington and said they should come to Hedge cottage immediately. They drove up there. Close to the village Estelle noticed a group of gypsy caravans, slightly out of place this close to NY. Joey makes an odd remark about not liking them, something about their hair.

Stopping to make a phone call to hewr parents, Estelle finds out from the bartender Harold that there had been shots fired at the base some days before and that a reporter had been around investigating.

They reach Hedge cottage in the evening. No one answers at the door so Barrington lets himself in. It's cold and still inside. A man is passed out in a chair among many bottles. In another chair a slumped body is covered in blood, a shot to the head. The drunk is the sergent from the base. Joey lights a fire while Barrington sees that the dead man had shot himself in the face.

Joey notices that a military car approaches fast. Running to the backdoor they see anothee car there. Barrington sees two figures further away in a field, also making their way towards the cottage. Barrington runs out to get a shotgun from the car then runs back. He notices that the two figures are 'lumbering'. The car now screeches to a halt and something big crashes into it, flying. While Joey tries to lock the door, Barrington sees that the two figures have come almost up to the house now, and that they are indeed, without a doubt, walking corpses.

Sylvester and Jeff asks for directions and find the cottage. They see a mussle flash ahead, kill the light and advance to protests from a terrified Sylvester.

At the cottage Joey and Barrington shoots the two walking corpses, a male and female. From the outside they hear sergent Serik screaming for help. Looking out Barrington sees a wingded monster (Byakhee) sweeping down towards Serik. Barrington shoots the wingded thing who is knocked of balance and just hits Serik who flies to the ground by the door. Jeff revs the car and drives over the two corpses, loosing control of the car and crashes into the wall of the cottage, pinning one of the zombies to the car and knocking the other one of.

Sylvester gets out and sees the Byakhee pull Serik into the air and bite his neck off. Then the female zombie smashes the door Sylvester had come out of and attacks, biting into his arm. Sylvester smashes the zombie through the car window where Jeff then shoots it in the head just after having shot the pinned zombie.

Inside a small dwarf-sized zombie had gotten in through the kitchen and attack Estelle who shoots it with the revolver from the dead man.

After sylvester saw the Byakhee rize into the air with Serik, he and Jeff runs into the cottage to see all the others madly shooting and stabbing the dwarf zombie until it is still with Joey madly beating it longer than them all.

In the relative calm after the battle Estelle finds a letter next to the suicide body. They also have a closer look at the uncontious drunk who turns out to be Falcone! They carry him to one of the cars outside and drives of into the night.
